In summary, it is proposed to design a sensor bushing (1) with a hollow pin (5) so that it has a threaded section (7) with an external thread (9) and a free section (15) with a cutting section (17) for cutting through a vessel wall. Such a sensor bushing can be used, for example, to prepare a measurement of a property of a sample in a closed vessel. This also allows a property of a sample to be measured in a closed vessel. For this purpose, the sensor bushing (1) is screwed sealingly from the outside, in particular by hand, through a wall of the vessel. Subsequently, a sensor probe is inserted sealingly through the sensor bushing (1) into the closed vessel, so that the property of the sample can then be measured with the sensor probe. A method for controlling a property of a food is also described, in which the sensor bushing (1) is used.
