The invention relates to a firing pin safety device for a handgun with a firing pin (2) which is guided axially displaceably within a housing (1) and a securing element (3) assigned to the firing pin (2). In order to enable improved safety against falling, the securing element (3) is designed as a mass body (4) movable in the housing (1) relative to it in several directions of movement with a locking element (5) for engagement with the firing pin (2).
