In a method for determining the radius of curvature of a curved surface (2) of an object with a measuring device (1), the measuring device (1) comprising an angle change measuring device 16, two contact elements (5, 6) spaced apart in a measuring direction and a path length measuring device (15 ), the measuring device (1) is displaced along a measuring path from a starting point (17) to an end point (18) in the measuring direction over the curved surface (2) in such a way that the two contact elements (5, 6) on the curved surface (2) concern. The path length measuring device (15) determines a measuring path length between the starting point (17) and the end point (18). A center point angle that extends along the measurement path from the starting point (17) to the end point (18) is detected on the basis of the changing orientation of the measuring device (1) along the measurement path. The radius of curvature is continuously determined from the recorded measurement path length and the recorded center angle.
