A device for influencing, in particular reducing, pressure pulsations in a hydraulic system is proposed which has an element (56) which is acted upon by the pressure prevailing in the hydraulic system and which can be moved as a function of the pressure prevailing in the hydraulic system. The device has a sensor device (52) by means of which the pressure prevailing in the hydraulic system is detected. The sensor device (52) is connected to an electronic control device (54), by means of which changes in the pressure prevailing in the hydraulic system are evaluated. An actuator (60) is provided for moving the pressurized element (56), which is controlled by the control device (54) in such a way that the pressurized element (56) overlaps, in particular counteracts, pressure changes in the hydraulic system that overlap the determined pressure changes in the hydraulic system be effected. The hydraulic system is preferably a low pressure area of a high pressure fuel pump.
