The invention relates to a protective helmet, comprising a helmet shell (1) that fits a human head and extends as far as the forehead area and a transparent visor (2) movably mounted on the helmet shell (1), with an adapter device (1) on the front area of the helmet shell (1). 3) is arranged for attaching helmet components. According to the invention it is provided that on the adapter device (3) there is arranged a rail (4) which leads in the direction of the back of the head and is designed to support and guide the visor (2).
