A sheet conveyor for printed sheets (1) comprises chain segments (5) which run on a ring track and each have a driver (10), and a mechanism for driving the chain segments (5) in a linear section of the ring track, the chain segments (5) connect to the mechanism on each rotation. The mechanism has a threaded spindle (6) with a helical rail (9). There are means for pre-aligning the drivers (10), these means aligning the respective driver (10) before it enters the threaded spindle (6) relative to the latter.
