It is an object of the present invention to further improve the usability of an image measuring device. The image measuring device searches for a workpiece by performing a first stage operation. The image measuring device generates an image in each imaging field of view while moving the stage according to a predetermined sequence and determines whether the workpiece is included in each image. When the workpiece is found, the image measuring device changes from the first stage operation to a second stage operation. The image measuring device generates an image in one or more imaging fields of view arranged in the direction of extension of the workpiece from a plurality of imaging fields of view arranged around the imaging field of view on the stage in which the image was obtained. The image measuring device connects a plurality of images generated in the second stage operation to produce a combined image with the entire workpiece contained therein, and displays the combined image.
