Bending device (22) for bending a strand material (12), witha bending unit (31) having a radio element and a carrier element which can be reduced to bending the interposed strand material (12) at a bending level (B);a feed area to feed the unbroken strand material (12) along a feed line (Z) to the bending unit (31),a counter-holder located in the supply area (28) for lateral attachment to the extruding material (12), where the counter-holder (28) has a first installation surface (54a) and a second installation surface (54b); andan adjustment mechanism (57) which is designed to operate the counter-holder at least between a first position and a second position; that in the first position the first installation surface (54a) is in a holding position next to the feed rate (Z) and in the second position the second installation surface (54b) is in the holding position.
