This network (100) comprises: a distribution line (124) extending continuously from a head drive (11) to a tail drive (18) through all of the passenger cars (12 to 17) , and intended to distribute electrical power to traction (4, 6) and driving (2) equipment in each power train and to comfort equipment (8) in each passenger car; two power supply assemblies, consisting respectively of a battery (121, 123) and an associated battery charger (122, 124), the battery chargers being identical to each other and the batteries being identical to each other, one battery being electrically connected to the distribution line via the associated battery charger so as to bring the distribution line (124) to a potential of 110 Volts.
