A method of verifying the efficiency of a fuel vapor recovery system. The invention relates to a method for verifying the efficiency of a fuel vapor recovery system (1). The method comprises: - a step of connecting a density meter (9) to a fuel vapor recovery circuit (6), - a step of calibrating the density meter in air comprising a measurement of the mass air molar M1 to obtain a measured density d1, - a test gas density meter calibration step comprising a measurement of a test gas of molar mass M2 to obtain a measured density d2, M2 being greater than M1, - a step of calculating a threshold density of the test gas from the measured densities d1 and d2, and a threshold percentage in the mixture to be recovered, and - an efficiency measurement step comprising a step of measuring the density of a mixture of air and test gas to obtain a measured density d3.
