A method of manufacturing an optical fiber-based pH measurement sensor. The invention relates to a method of manufacturing an ion sensor based on an optical fiber, this method comprising the following steps: - cleavage of the optical fiber, free hydroxyl groups appearing on the cleavage surface, - grafting of a layer of trifunctional silane directly on free hydroxyl groups thus appeared on the cleavage surface of the optical fiber, without a prior exogenous activation step, - grafting of a layer of difunctional silane on the cleavage surface of the optical fiber, and grafting of a fluorescent dye.
