A threading device 10 comprises at least two arms 50, 52, threads 100, 102, thread attachment locations (90, 92, 94, 96, figure 10) and a button (80, figure 10). The thread attachment locations are arranged to move in a single plane, with two of them moving inward towards each other while the other two move away from each other. This causes a twist in the thread to move along the threads, plucking out any hairs. The actuator button (80, figure 10) is arranged so that its movement is in a first plane, and this plane is parallel with the plane in which the thread attachment locations move. Also disclosed is a spring biased button actuator (80, fig. 10) biased by spring (87, fig.10). A further embodiment has a sensitivity adjuster (260, fig. 14) which can adjust the range of movement of the arms 50, 52.
