A spinning reel 100 for casting a fishing line in a forward direction includes a reel body 2, a spool shaft 4, a pinion gear 7, a bush 8 and a shaft bearing 9. The spool shaft 4 is supported by the reel body 2 so as to be movable in the longitudinal direction. The pinion gear 7 has a tubular shape and an interior, the spool shaft 4 penetrating through the interior. The bush 8 has a support portion 8a supporting the spool shaft 4, and a shaft bearing housing portion 8b that has a larger diameter than an inner diameter of the support portion 8a and that is fixed to the reel body 2 by press-fitting. The shaft bearing 9 is attached to the shaft bearing housing portion 8a of the bush 8 and supporting the pinion gear 7. The bush 8 may have a press-fit rib 8d (Figure 4) protruding from an outer peripheral portion in a radial direction.
