A stackable block (108 fig.7c) comprising a wall formed of a folded strip of material, the strip (74 fig.5a) when folded forms a structure wherein the inner surface of the block is vertically offset from the outer surface to form a stepped upper 84 and lower perimeter 86. The upper and lower perimeters may have stepped configurations around their entire length and may comprise slots for receiving the opposing perimeter of another block in a stacking arrangement. The blocks may include angled projections 78 with holes 80 to receive supporting rods.
