A gas supply control system 100 for an oxygenator of an extracorporeal ventilation apparatus. System 100 being for connection to external gas supply ports 102,104 to respectively receive supplied oxygen and nitrogen. System 100 creates a supply gas output from predetermined oxygen and nitrogen portions. System 100 comprising two or more gas output lines 140,150 where system 100 delivers the supply gas output through one of the gas output lines 140,150, or through a plurality of gas output lines 140,150. Preferably, system 100 modulates flow rates differently through the gas output lines 140,150. System 100 may comprise a further external gas supply port 106 to receive a supply of carbon dioxide to create a supply gas output comprising a predetermined carbon dioxide portion. System 10 may blend supply gas with a predetermined carbon dioxide portion after blending nitrogen and oxygen. System 100 may sense flow rates of: the supply gas output; and the predetermined oxygen and nitrogen portions, to determine if the supply-gas-output flow-rate corresponds to a sum of the oxygen and nitrogen flow-rates. Also, a gas extraction system for an extracorporeal ventilation system. Described in terms of an oxygenation gas supply providing multiple individual oxygenation lines with oxygenation gas.
