A method of managing a private virtual communication channel between a terminal and a server comprising:a step of detecting (E100) the availability of a first channel established between the terminal and the server;- if the first channel is available and established:a step of obtaining (E200) a parameter representative of a quality of transmission by the first channel; ando if this parameter is representative of a transmission quality lower than a predetermined quality level:A closing step (E400) of the first channel;A first recovery step (E500) with the server of all the configuration information necessary for the establishment of a second private virtual communication channel between the terminal and the server; andAn establishment step (E600) of a second channel between the terminal and the server using the configuration information.
