A method for characterising the radiosensitivity of a cell sample of an individual to ionising radiation, said cell sample having been obtained from cells removed from said individual, the method being characterised in that - the radiosensitivity is determined from the quantity of the phosphorylated ATM protein, pATM, in the basal state t
