A method according to the present invention includes a cooling temperature-stress relationship computation step of computing a cooling temperature-stress relationship representing a relationship between a post-cooling temperature of an outer surface of a metal wall that partitions pressurized fluid and stress acting on a cooled portion and a post-cooling temperature computation step of computing a target post-cooling temperature of the outer surface that provides a target creep life of the metal wall based on the cooling temperature-stress relationship and an equivalent life line representing a relationship between a temperature and stress that provides the target creep life, and the cooling temperature-stress relationship is computed in consideration of the thickness of the metal wall in the cooling temperature-stress relationship computation step.
