Among the multifarious coin issues of the Mongol Empire, silver-washedcopper dirhams with Chinese characters不花 bu-hua and 課 ke, struck atBukhara in the 60-s of the 13th century, undoubtedly raise particular interest.These coins, known for a long time, have been described or mentioned inmany publications1; however, not all questions about them are clear yet.
