摘要
The first accounts of the sanctuary of Apollo at Delion and the pan-Boeotian festival of the Delia A limestone stele bearing three inscriptions, found in 1992 in the town of Dilesi in east Boeotia, yields the first accounting documents of the sanctuary of Apollo at Delion, on the territory of the city of Tanagra. The inscription inscribed on the front of the stone, which is the main and best-preserved face, is a copy of the accounts rendered at the end of his term of office by the agonothetes responsible for the organisation of the Delia, the pan-Boeotian artistic and athletic contests held in honour of Apollo. This inscription, which may be dated to the last decades of the 2nd c. BC, also provides information about the coinage in circulation in Boeotia at this period, and for the relations maintained by the Boeotian cities with each other after the dissolution of the political and military confederation in 172/1 and its reconstitution in a modified form in the years before 140 BC.
