Extracción del aceite esencial de la cáscara de naranja caracterización y estudio de potencial industrial en el Ecuador.

Essential oils are substances that are taking considerable importance now a days because of its various beneficial properties and the growing interest in natural products, that make them attractive for various industries, especially pharmaceutical, food and cosmetics, as well as countless of uses and applications which have in the manufacture of other end products. Ecuador is a virgin country in the field of industries producing essential oils, there is no scale factories engaged in this activity, despite being a mega diverse country with a unique variety of flora and a variety medicinal and aromatic plants. The next study is a research project on the extraction of essential oil of sweet orange peel, the characterization and analysis of a possible implementation of an industry dedicated to this activity. Ethyl ether was selected for the extraction process and It was used an extraction column that is part of a of liquid-liquid extraction unit. Percentage yield was obtained from the extraction process, characterization test were taken and it was analyzed the market with real and actual data.
