The report deals with the influence of elevated temperatures on deformed Glare.Glare is a metal laminate consisting of aluminium layers and fibers embedded in a resin, the so-called prepreg. The different layers are bonded together at an elevated temperature and pressure, called 'the first curing cycle'. With increasing temperature the shear stiffness of the resin decreases. Its capability to carry shear forces is reduced. The chance of delamination increases, especially when deformed Glare parts are subjected to a second curing cycle. This, for instance, can occur in a bonding process, where sometimes spontaneous delamination is observed. The report describes the determination of the relation between the amount of deformation and the temperature at which spontaneous delamination occurs.
