The monograph outlines and discusses the roles of licensing in commercializing technology developed within Federal Laboratories and examines specific techniques for licensing such technology. It discusses the main subjects that should be covered in licensing training and includes a detailed appendix on intellectual property and the basics of a license agreement. The monograph focuses on the Federal Laboratory but draws on experiences for industry and university licensing as well. Though the monograph is directed primarily toward personnel in Office of Research and Technology Applications of the Federal Laboratories, it is also appropriate for Laboratory personnel and other interested individuals.
