NLR is developing a parallel, unstructured, adaptive flow solver based on211u001ehexahedrons. Development is directed to both the numerical algorithm and parallel 211u001eefficiency. After an earlier do-loop parallelization of the flow solver on a NEX 211u001eSX-4/16, a parallelization strategy for the adaptation algorithm based on mesh 211u001epartitioning will be described and executed. Parallelization results will show 211u001ethat shared memory machines are excellent platforms to develop domain 211u001edecomposition methods for a flow solver which is both under numerical development 211u001eand used in production.
