摘要

Economic governance refers to the policies, laws, regulations, institutions, practices, and individuals that determine the context in which a country's economic activity takes place. Timely assistance of this type is necessary for the reconstruction of economic institutions, the establishment of sound economic policies, and the creation of the capacity for sustainable functioning of a rebuilt state. Macroeconomic stability, sound fiscal policy, and other policies and institutions that promote private-sector development are central to creating jobs, reducing numbers of angry unemployed, and giving the population a stake in a new society. During the early stages of postconflict assistance, there is often a brief window of opportunity to make fundamental Economic Cooperation Administration A poster for the Marshall Plan, which applied well-thought-out economic gov-ernance programs to wartorn Europe.
