摘要

This report presents the results of a study of the performance of low-frequency aircraft antennas having dielectric parts covered with thin resistive coatings. Such resistive coatings are currently being-used to reduce the precipitation static interference which results from the charging of these dielectric surfaces. Both dipole and loop-type low-frequency antennas that are inside conducting cavities covered with thin resistive shells or coatings are investigated theoretically, and equivalent circuits are presented. Small dipole-type antennas inside conducting cavities covered by thin resistive shells, and annular-slot antennas whose dielectric rings are covered by thin resistive coatings are also investigated experimentally.
