When one is concerned with teaching a body of information to a large group of people as rapidly as possible, it is advantageous to utilize the most effective teaching method available. Several factors, such as facilities, money, and time determine what teaching methods are feasible. It is then the job of the instructors, curriculum planners, and research personnel to determine which of these methods is the most effective.nBut what is meant by “most effective”? Obviously it means the teaching method which imparts the most information to the students--and the effectiveness of the method is usually measured by some sort of test.
