Dominant order electrostatic potential distributions are considered consistent with the charged particle densities which were found based on a formulation of the diffusion aspect of the precursor photoionization problem in a shock tube discussed in an earlier report. The limits of large photoionization rate and shock speed and small ratio of ion to electron diffusion coefficients are treated. Solutions for potential in each of the seven regions (which appear in the asymptotic formulation) are obtained and matched in the overlap domains between adjacent regions. The relevance to experiments is discussed. (Author)
