The report is the third in a trilogy on the facture of fibrous compsites prepared. It describes a study of the fracture mechanisms in fibrous composites. The report is divided into 2 sections; the first part describes the temperature and strain-rate effects on the crack initiation energy and crack propagation energy of a carbon fiber-epoxy resin composite and a glass fiber-epoxy resin composite. The second part describes a study of the fracture mechanisms in a hybrid fibrous composite containing carbon and glass fibers.
