An Analysis of Drought Research Needs for Colorado Agriculture.

An analysis was made of the research which must be accomplished in order to resolve drought related problems of Colorado,with particular emphasis on those problems relatively unique to Colorado. This work was based on the report 'Drought Research Needs'by Yevjevich,Hall and Salas (Nov. 1977),on consultations with Regional Directors and others of the Extension Service,the reactions of farmers in southeastern Colorado,and from personal experiences during nearly 25years of research in agricultural water management practices and from a number of years spent in research policy related positions with the Federal government. Topics discussed include the following:Blow-dust hazard minimization;The cost-price squeeze on Colorado dry-farm agriculture;Irrigated agriculture in periods of drought.
