To provide plants with increased resistance to Colorado potato beetles, a method of producing the same, and a method of determining the resistance to Colorado potato beetles in plants.SOLUTION: It has been found that a Spirosolan skeleton 23-hydroxylase gene and a Spirosolan skeleton 23-acetyltransferase gene, derived from S. chacoense, S. tuberosum, and S. lycopersicum, are involved in the biosynthesis of a leptin, which is responsible for the resistance to Colorado potato beetles.SELECTED DRAWING: None
