Characterization of Highway Runoff in Washington State

摘要

A total of 241 storm events were sampled at ten sites during the first full year of statewide monitoring of highway runoff. Analyses of these data indicates that more than half of the observed solids in this runoff is traced to sanding operations. The total solids loading at each site was correlated with traffic during the storm.
