Probability of Sequences of Wet and Dry Days

Climatological forecasts of precipitation, given in terms of both absolute and transitional probabilities, are quite useful in day-to-day operations, as well as general precipitation climatology for any period of the year. These 'forecasts' can be obtained directly from the referenced publication with minimal arithmetic; however, this program makes these data immediately available to the forecaster. This type of forecast is especially applicable for weather support to agriculture and forestry interests. The program is written in BASIC (Revision 1976) for the AFOS system (Eclipse). It also can be adapted quite readily to the Apple II or TRS-80 (extended).
