摘要

Results are presented of research to synthesize feedback controllers to stabilize an uncontrolled plant. Control systems whose plants are composed of lumped networks connected by a transmission line are considered. The elements of the system are linear, time invariant, and the transmission line is lossless. Two types of control law are investigated: (1) integral feedback with delay and (2) proportional feedback with delay. The first law allows any finite number of open loop poles to be shifted if controllability conditions are met. It consists of proportional terms with delay and is obtained by a spectral decomposition technique. The second law contains only proportional terms with delay and shifts an infinite number of open loop poles. In designing the controller, it is concluded that two conditions must be met: the steady state error must be zero and no saturation may occur in the system.
