Irrigating with Municipal Effluent: A Socioeconomic Study of Community Experiences

摘要

This study examines experiences of eight communities using land to treat municipal effluents. Most systems evolved without long-range planning. No distinct methods for land acquisition and management related to the size of the community were identified. Factors identified as important for successful systems operation included a long planning horizon and good working relationships between community officials and landowners.
