摘要

The Development Coordination Committee (DCC) was established by the U.S. Congress with the mandate to ensure the basic human needs thrust of U.S. foreign policy. This DCC Annual Report for FY 1982 provides evidence that this mandate is being fulfilled. Following an introductory summary of economic development issues and U.S. assistance programs in 1982, Part 2 reviews the status of developing countries as a group in the world economy in terms of current levels of development, international trade and lending, private direct investment, economic policies, and the North-South dialogue in international economic systems. Part 3 explains the objectives and priorities of U.S. support for both bilateral programs and multilateral programs in conjunction with multilateral development banks (MDB's) and U.N. agencies. Part 4 provides an account of actual U.S. support during 1982 for MDB programs.
