摘要

The report is the tenth in an annual series reporting the drug use and related attitudes of America's high school seniors. The findings, which cover the high school classes of 1975 through 1986, come from an ongoing national research and reporting program entitled Monitoring the Future: A Continuing Study of the Lifestyles and Values of Youth. The program is conducted by the University of Michigan's Institute for Social Research, and is funded primarily by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. The study is sometimes referred to as the High School Senior Survey, since each year a representative sample of all seniors in public and private high schools in the coterminous United States is surveyed. However, the study also includes representative samples of young adults from previous graduating classes who are administered follow-up surveys by mail.
