Selektie van Testmethoden voor Beschermende Materialen (Selection of Test Methods for Protective Materials)

Test methods have been evaluated on behalf of a governmental paper on skin protection. As far as permeation through air-impermeable protective materials is concerned, two tests may be used: The test developed by the British Occupational Hygiene Society, recently published as BS 4724: Part 2: In all likelihood the test will be accepted as an ISO-standard; The test described in the American standard ASTM F 939-87. Concerning liquid penetration through air-permeable protective materials, the test as described in ASTM F 903 is recommended, as it offers starting-points for the selection of protective materials.
