Nutrient Requirements of Swine (Ninth Revised Edition, 1988)

The report provides an up-to-date and comprehensive review of the research findings on the requirements for energy, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, and fatty acids for all classes of swine. In addition, the requirements as determined by the subcommittee are listed in tabular form as a percent of the total diet and as amount per day for easy reference. The revision includes an expanded and throughly documented text. Equations have been included to calculate the daily energy and feed intakes for pregnancy and lactation and feed intakes of growing pigs. In the minerals section, new evidence has modified the phosphorus, chloride, and selenium requirements. Also feedstuff composition data have been revised and are listed for 94 feedstuffs.
