The Secondary School Recognition Program and the Elementary School Recognition Program promote excellence in education and call national attention to groups of unusually successful public and private schools. Schools honored are extremely good at educating the students they serve with available resources. All can point to examples of effective practice and are inspirations to other schools striving for excellence in education. The report names the schools selected for recognition 1982-83 through 1989-90. The listing is arranged by state. It provides the name of each school, city location, and date of recognition.
