Lifetimes of High-Spin States of exp 160 exp 161 Yb

Recoil-distance measurements of lifetimes of high-spin states of exp 160 exp 161 Yb are described. While the results for the ground band of exp 160 Yb are not inconsistent with centrifugal stretching, the addition of one or more quasineutrons seems to cause a reduction in collectivity which depends on frequency but not, for the case examined, on the type of quasineutron. 9 references.
