Starting from the properties of a pure integrator, the specification of a practical algorithm for the improvement of the signal-to-noise ratio of TV signals is derived. The behaviour of the algorithm is analysed and the relationship to a digital filter is developed. The paper concludes with a study of some of the practical problems of implementation.
