摘要

Bench-scale, batch ozonolysis of a synthetic coal-conversion waste-water containing phenol and thiocyanate was performed. Experimental results indicated that the rate of destruction of the substrate was a constant and zero-order, rate-controlled by liquid-phase diffusion of ozone. Regression analysis of experimental data was used to obtain expressions for phenol and thiocyanate ozonolysis in terms of observable operating parameters. Cyanide concentration was found to reach a maximum of 35% of the initial thiocyanate concentration and to occur when thiocyanate concentration reached zero. (ERA citation 06:006887)
