摘要

A theory which predicts the base pressure and afterbody drag on axisymmetric missile bodies at supersonic velocities is presented. The body is assumed to have a turbulent dead air region behind the base. This theory extends the theory of Oswatitsch which connects the drag of the body with the antropy increase in the flow. Values for missile bodies at angles of incidence or = 20 deg are approximated. Various calculation examples are shown and a comparison with experimental values shows good agreement between theory and measurement.
