摘要

Hypersonic merged layer flow near the stagnation point of a blunt body was investigated through the numerical solution of steady state Navier-Stokes equations and time asymptotic solution of unsteady Navier-Stokes equations. A Monte Carlo technique gives results for the early stage of the formation of merged shock layer regime. A detailed comparison of steady state Navier-Stokes solutions and time asymptotic solutions of unsteady Navier-Stokes equations with the corresponding results from Monte Carlo technique and the experimental data was made. Comparison from various studies on the Galileo probe is presented.
