摘要

Al-Cu-Mg-type alloys reinforced with SiC particulates, produced by casting,rheocasting, spray deposition, and powder metallurgy, were evaluated and compared. The microstructure and properties are markedly influenced by the process used, mainly due to the differences in precipitation behavior. For all production routes, the greatest improvement was in the Young's modulus, with an increase of about 50 percent. A typical application for the aerospoace industry is presented.
