Life Sciences Flight Experiments Program. SPACELAB-4 science summaries of tentatively selected experiments

This brochure has been prepared from official NASA documents to give a reader with a comprehensive life and biomedical sciences background specific but abbreviated information relative to the twenty-five experiments which have been tentatively selected for the first dedicated life sciences mission, Spacelab-4 (SL-4), planned for launch in December 1985. The 25 investigations are arranged in eight discipline groups. An acronym list is included to help the reader with definitions of NASA-specific abbreviations. Inside the front cover is a synopsized philosophy of the guidelines which were used in formulating this life sciences Spacelab mission. The eight areas of study are as follow: cardiovascular/pulmonary; vestibular; renal/endocrine; hematology; muscle; bone; immunology; and general biology.
