X-ray scattering facility for dynamics of surfaces and interfaces. Final report

This project has been funded by the Department of Energy to allow the principal211u001einvestigators, working with the Complex Materials Consortium Collaborative Access 211u001eTeam (CMC-CAT), to build a facility for the study of surfaces and interfaces 211u001eusing x-rays at the Advanced Photon Source (APS) at Argonne National Laboratory. 211u001eResearch at this facility will be directed toward determination of structure, 211u001edynamics, phase transitions, and growth in complex systems including surfaces, 211u001ethin films and interfaces, magnetic surfaces and alloys. The CMC-CAT, 211u001erepresenting eight institutions from industry, national laboratories, and 211u001euniversities, has obtained permission from APS to construct beamlines at the 211u001einsertion device and bending magnet (this project) of Sector 9.
