PREPARATION AND PROPERTIES OF 2-FLUORO-2, 2-DINITROETHYL ACRYLATE POLYMERS

Various 2-fluoro-2,2-dinitroethyl acrylate polymers and copolymers were prepared and their properties observed in an effort to find a polymer suited for making extrusion-cast explosives and binders for plastic-bonded explosives.nPlasticizers significantly lowered the glass transition temperature of the homopolymer, but copolymerization had much less effect. Methods for crosslinking to improve the mechanical properties of the polymers were considered.
