Potential Well Formation in Electrostatic-Confinement Devices

Low energy experiments on a 61 cm diameter spherical reflex diode are described which demonstrate pulse compressions of a factor of > 25, a neutralized ion beam with energies approx. 60% of the injected electron beam, and an ability to obtain a good focus of the neutralized ions.
